The Symantec™ Network Access Control version 11.0, hereafter referred to as Symantec™ Network Access Control, was the subject of a Common Criteria evaluation performed by the Common Criteria Evaluation Facility at EWA-Canada located in Ottawa, Ontario. The evaluation was completed in June 2008.
The evaluation of Symantec™ Network Access Control determined that this Information Technology (IT) product can be trusted, at an assurance level of EAL 2 augmented with ALC_FLR.2 and AVA_MSU.1, to conform to the requirements of the associated security target.
Symantec™ Network Access Control 11.0 securely controls access to corporate networks, enforces endpoint security policy and easily integrates with existing network infrastructures. Regardless of how endpoints connect to the network, Symantec™ Network Access Control discovers and evaluates endpoint compliance status, provisions the appropriate network access and provides automated remediation capabilities.
The scope of this evaluation is defined by the security target, which identifies assumptions made during the evaluation, the intended environment for Symantec™ Network Access Control, the IT security requirements to be met, and the level of confidence (evaluation assurance level) to which it is asserted that Symantec™ Network Access Control satisfies its IT security requirements.
Consumers are advised to carefully review the certification report to gain an understanding of the security functionality, the evaluated configuration, and the intended operating environment for Symantec™ Network Access Control.
